Raisin Bread French Toast Casserole             Jan Ruggles

1 loaf cinnamon raisin bread (1 lb.)

2 large apples, peeled & diced

1 8oz cream cheese

1 tsp vanilla

10 eggs

 1/4 cup maple syrup

2 1/2 cups Half&Half

6 Tble butter, melted

additional raisins (optional)

additional cinnamon (optional)

--Cube bread into small pieces. Place 1/2 of cubes in 9X14 baking dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray
--Layer with apples---add additional raisins here if desired
--Layer with dabs of cream cheese
--Layer with remaining bread
--Put Eggs, vanilla, Maple syrup & half & Half, melted butter (and cinnamon if desired) in bowel. Beat until smooth.
--Pour over bread. Let sit at least 2 hours or (covered overnight) in the refrigerator
--Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
--Cook for 45 minutes or until middle is done
--Let sit 15 minutes before serving.
--Serve with additional Syrup if desired
